About My Hobby

As you will know my hobby is collecting, cutting & polishing Scottish agates.

I live in Montrose a couple of miles from Scurdie Ness, Usan,and Lunan all of wich are good for collectors, either on the beach or in fields.

The three pictures above are from my first cutting session, can you imagine my surprise & delight once cut.

I use a homemade cutting machine which is a motor, pulleys,and a shaft to turn a diamond cutting blade(i use a barranca 303) a nice thin blade and gives a good clean cut ready to be polished.

A grinder with a silicon carbide wheel, i can change this to a 2 1/2" expandable drum,which is great for buffing imperfections.

And a large tumbler polisher.
